Happy, young businesswoman looking at many twisted arrows on theI see so many women so far out of touch with their natural-born source of power it truly floors me!

It shows up in the most obscene ways too.  Lying in an attempt to cover up for bad behavior, trying to make someone else look bad so that you look good, blaming people for an error in judgment, all so that the responsibility for your life and your actions don't lie with you.

Is that you?

Most people would never admit it, because they don't even see it, but staying stuck in your victim story perpetuates a belief that you have no power over your own circumstances, which simply put is simply not true.  I should know, because for the majority of my life, that was my belief.

To say I was not self-empowered as a young girl would be an understatement.  Becoming a victim of my childhood was expected, and in fact, in some ways, encouraged even.  And as a child, I was a victim – of domestic abuse, which consequently made me a victim as an adult as well.  As a result, my inherent patterns were all run off my beliefs that I was a victim of anyone and anything.

From my job, to money, to friends and boyfriends, whatever happened in my life was more because of what they were doing versus what I was doing.  How could it be that I never got the raise I felt I deserved, or someone cheated on me, I was denied opportunity or felt broke when I wasn't?

It was my victim mentality.

[bctt tweet=”Your story and the meaning you give it runs every aspect of your life.”] When I talk to women who want to work with me, but they have to get their spouse's permission first despite the fact they work a full-time job and make their own money, they go right back to their victim story about how someone controls them and then they blame them when the answer is no.

The reality is, it's rarely out of mutual respect for their finances but rather a need for approval which puts you in a place of victimhood, and keeps you there.

What to do?  You have to start with accepting responsibility, for EVERYTHING!  Your childhood, your finances, your beliefs, your health, your broken down car, your lack of knowing any better.  All of it!

Pointing the finger does you no good.   It's not someone else's fault that X, Y or Z happened, no matter what you're conditioned to think.  It's yours!  It's nobody else's problem that you're poor, can't sleep at night, can't run a 5K marathon, or can't get ahead.  It's 1000% x 10 yours and yours only.

And it's no one else's fault that you can't get what you want when you want it every single damn time either, whatever "it" may be!

Here's where everyone gets it wrong.  Most people walk around telling themselves that everyone else has it made in life.  They must be lucky, or more special, therefore they're different and somehow entitled, and it's not true.

We are all equal.  From a homeless person on the street to the president of the US, we are all just people, operating as only humans can, and there is only one thing that sets us apart from another.

How we think.

Not one person on this planet who is wealthy didn't work for it, some way somehow.  You can be born an heiress and lose it all, or play the stock market and lose it all too.  It's how they think that maintains or obtains wealth.  So really, it's not how much you have in the bank, but instead owning your own ability to manifest money that makes you different from someone else.

Not many people realize that and instead blame the wealthy for being wealthy whereas making that one significant tweak in your mindset could make you millions!

When you decide that playing the victim is the best role for you to play, you give away your power completely, which only makes you resort to game-playing like lying, cheating and blaming.  Knowing that your true power comes in the form of ownership of who you are and what you do completely flips the switch on your victim mentality and causes you to show up in an entirely different, more authentic, more real way.

And your life changes forever, in ways you can only now imagine.
