{"id":4263,"date":"2012-09-21T18:40:29","date_gmt":"2012-09-21T18:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/?p=4263"},"modified":"2022-08-25T22:24:53","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T03:24:53","slug":"line-energy-first-lose-weight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/line-energy-first-lose-weight\/","title":{"rendered":"Line Your Energy Up First, Then Lose Weight!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"line energy up first\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-12852\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/line-energy-up-first-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" \/>In my last blog post, <a href=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/sleep-time\/\">Sleep Time is Realignment-of-Energies Time<\/a>, I talked about <strong>one of my most effective strategies <\/strong>I use to keep my energy aligned so that I am able to stay consistent with what I want to attract to me.<span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">&nbsp; <\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnother strategy I use that I again borrow from Abraham-Hicks is the Upstream Downstream process. &nbsp;It&#39;s quite simple, and you&#39;re going to love it!<span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">&nbsp;<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe way it works is any time you have a thought that is resistant to what you want, consider yourself&nbsp;going upstream, but when you reverse the thought and can get to a better-feeling feeling, you&rsquo;re turning your oar in the stream in the <em>opposite<\/em> direction and you start going downstream, which is exactly what you want because&nbsp;then you are no longer&nbsp;resisting that which you desire and it can easily flow to you.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRemember, everything you want is really two&nbsp;subjects: Wanting it and not wanting it, or resisting it.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLet&rsquo;s use weight as an example, because this is such a big topic for so many people, and what I teach.&nbsp; Weight loss is multi-faceted no doubt, but <strong>just a change in your vibration<\/strong> can make all the difference when it comes to&nbsp;weight loss.<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHow many times have you had thoughts like, &ldquo;I look so fat,&rdquo; or, &ldquo;I&rsquo;m afraid to try my clothes on because they might not fit,&ldquo; or, &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t want to look in the mirror because I&rsquo;m so ashamed and embarrassed by how I look?&rdquo;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIf you&rsquo;re like most people, you&rsquo;re answer would most likely&nbsp;be often.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhen working with a client on <a href=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/coaching\/#gold\">weight loss<\/a>, their thinking is&nbsp;the first place we go, because it&rsquo;s much less about the food itself but more so their <em>feelings<\/em> that matter most<em><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNow, the first thing you need to do here is become aware of what thoughts you&rsquo;re having about food, your body, your weight, and your image.&nbsp; Because once you do, you&#39;re much more cognizant of <strong>what you&#39;re saying to yourself<\/strong>&nbsp;when you&#39;re eating, getting dressed, or just moving about, and that&#39;s very important because that&#39;s what needs to shift in order for weight loss to occur.<span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t[bctt tweet=&#8221;If you take action before you line your energy up, you won&#8217;t see results,&#8221;] no matter how hard you work out or diet.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSo when you have a thought such as, &ldquo;I look so fat,&rdquo; it&rsquo;s ok if you keep going upstream for a minute or so because you&rsquo;re used to doing that, and you might follow that thought up with another like thought like, <strong>&ldquo;<\/strong>I have no willpower,&rdquo; &ldquo;I&rsquo;m a weakling when it comes to food,&rdquo; or &#39;I&rsquo;m so ashamed of myself.&rdquo;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBut what you want to start doing once you get all those resistant thoughts out is begin to move in the opposite direction, which would look something like this:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tRight now <strong>I&rsquo;m not at my ideal weight<\/strong> because I&rsquo;m in the process of re-learning how to be in tune with my body.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWhen I was growing up I was influenced in a way that made me think these things about my body so therefore it makes sense I would still think this today because I haven&rsquo;t worked on my emotional intelligence before now.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIf I choose to eat that cake, I know it&rsquo;s not the cake itself that is making me fat but it&rsquo;s actually my thoughts, and while I can&rsquo;t change my weight in this moment, I can change the thoughts I attach to the food.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCake tastes good to me so I&rsquo;m going to enjoy it instead of punishing myself for having it.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIt&rsquo;s only one piece of cake, which I don&rsquo;t eat all the time anyways, so in the overall scheme of things, it&rsquo;s really no big deal.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIt certainly tastes delicious.<span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;\">&nbsp; <\/span>\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIt&rsquo;s <strong>just a tiny piece of cake<\/strong> and I can have some now and some later.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tEating cake every so often brings me pleasure.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tMy body likes it.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tI have a sweet taste bud so physiologically, I will always crave sweet, and there&rsquo;s no need to worry about what it&rsquo;s doing to me when I eat it.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tDoesn&rsquo;t that feel better?\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLet&rsquo;s take another example. &nbsp;You see a thin person eating cake, and you immediately feel envious, so you think to yourself:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tIt&rsquo;s not fair that <strong>she can eat cake<\/strong> and be thin and I can&rsquo;t.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tShe must have a really high metabolism.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWhy was I born with the fat gene but she wasn&rsquo;t?\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tI hate thin people.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\tCan you guess which direction those thoughts are going in?&nbsp; If you guessed upstream, you&#39;d be correct!\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNow,&nbsp;go <em>down<\/em>stream.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tI <strong>look forward to the day that my body is thin too<\/strong> and when I eat cake, I don&rsquo;t think twice about it.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tBeing thin feels good to me, and makes me happy.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tI don&rsquo;t know what her thoughts are about eating cake but whatever they are they&rsquo;re working.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tShe doesn&rsquo;t seem to care too much that the cake will make her gain weight, so maybe she&rsquo;s onto something.
