{"id":407,"date":"2013-07-11T09:00:13","date_gmt":"2013-07-11T13:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wellnesswithangela.com\/stopsugarcravings\/?p=407"},"modified":"2022-08-25T22:24:53","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T03:24:53","slug":"natural-hormone-balancing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/natural-hormone-balancing\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Keys to Natural Hormone Balancing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"nuage de mots bulles ZOOM : m\u00e9nopause\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-7478\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Hormones-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" \/>Natural hormone balancing is&nbsp;a hot topic,&nbsp;with hormonal imbalances on this rise&nbsp;and seemingly&nbsp;only getting worse, but is it worth the time and effort it takes to balance them out and get it right?\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLet&#39;s first talk&nbsp;facts. &nbsp;Mood swings, infertility, weight gain, and cystic acne are just a few of the side effects of a hormonal imbalance in your body.&nbsp; And I&rsquo;m not just talking about women!&nbsp; Men are subject to the same hormonal imbalances that women are considering all the environmental toxins&nbsp;and&nbsp;hormone-rich foods we eat nowadays.&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHormones are lurking in the most unlikely places, including prescription drugs, factory-farmed meat, dairy, and plastics.&nbsp; BPA, <strong>one of the most dangerous toxins<\/strong>&nbsp;on the market,&nbsp;mostly found in plastic and register receipts, actually <em>mimics<\/em> hormones in your body which completely throws your hormones off kilter.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAdrenal fatigue, a condition that taxes your adrenal glands due to excess stress, also causes hormones to go cuckoo for cocoa puffs.&nbsp; Your hormones are regulated by your pituitary gland, which is part of your endocrine system &#8211; along with your adrenal glands &#8211;&nbsp;and when the adrenals go, so does everything else.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t(You do the math!)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnother reason your hormones are off could likely be due to the pill.&nbsp; If you&rsquo;ve ever taken it, beware!&nbsp; The pill floods your body with excess estrogen, causing yet even more imbalances amongst other serious health risks.&nbsp; Plus,<strong> it can take your body up to a year <\/strong>to rid itself of these excess hormones and only if you balance them naturally by applying holistic protocols.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIf you suspect your hormones are off and are ready to get them in check, here&rsquo;s my 5-step approach:\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Identify the root cause<\/span><\/strong> of the problem and address it ASAP.&nbsp; Are you too toxic?&nbsp; Is your stress level too high?&nbsp; Or maybe it&#39;s time to trash the pill! &nbsp;The birth control pill floods your system with excess estrogen causing conditions like estrogen dominance, a hormonal imbalance.<br \/>\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<strong><span style=\"font-size:18px;\">Do a detox.<\/span><\/strong>&nbsp; Detoxing used to be considered <strong>new age and freaky<\/strong> but those days are long gone!&nbsp; In order to successfully balance your body and stand a fighting chance against toxins, detoxing is one of my secret weapons to clean myself out and start anew, plus give my body a chance to heal and rebalance. &nbsp;[bctt tweet=&#8221;Caution: Detoxing just for weight loss is a losing game.&#8221;] &nbsp;Focus more on the benefits, like clearer skin, more energy and less irritability. &nbsp;And keep it short, maybe 3 days to a week at most ought to&nbsp;do it.)<br \/>\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><strong>Change your diet.<\/strong><\/span>&nbsp; Get rid of packaged, processed foods, conventionally grown meats and commercially processed dairy and switch to whole, organic, straight-from-the-earth like nature intended food.
