{"id":11708,"date":"2016-01-30T11:37:13","date_gmt":"2016-01-30T16:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/?p=11708"},"modified":"2022-08-25T22:24:24","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T03:24:24","slug":"great-work-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/great-work-working\/","title":{"rendered":"A Great Way to Work Out Without Actually Working Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"snow angel\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-11711\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/snow-angel-150x150.png\" width=\"150\" \/>I&rsquo;m like you.&nbsp; Busy all the time, on-the-go, pulled in a million different directions.&nbsp; But like you too, working out, or just moving somehow, is important to me, so I&#39;m always looking for different ways to work out.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tI can tell when I haven&rsquo;t been active in forever.&nbsp; My body feels like sludge, and of course, nothing fits.&nbsp; Yet I get tired of typical workout routines.&nbsp; Some I love, even after years of doing them, but others just bore me, and if I don&rsquo;t find something new, I&rsquo;ll just do nothing instead.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe <strong>one surefire way<\/strong> I&rsquo;ve found to make working out not seem like working out is by incorporating exercise into my day.&nbsp; It&rsquo;s my favorite way to exercise, and doesn&rsquo;t even feel like exercise at all!&nbsp; There are some workouts that I think are important that work on way more than just body image, like <a href=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/why-i-like-t-tapp-why-you-should-too\/\">T Tapp<\/a>.&nbsp; And then there are those that are more for&nbsp;vanity (think pole dancing class).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDespite what you might think, [bctt tweet=&#8221;it&#8217;s not as hard as you think to make exercise a part of your day, no matter how busy you are.&#8221;] Here are some of my best tips to making exercise feel like a natural part of your day and not set you up for failure if you don&#39;t have time to do a 30-minute workout&nbsp;on your DVR.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tHouse-walking.&nbsp; Ever heard of it?&nbsp; It&rsquo;s far and away the best way to work out without working out.&nbsp; You&rsquo;re walking anyways, just do it more!&nbsp; You don&rsquo;t even have to leave home.&nbsp; I house-walk while I watch tv (I love Reba), bake, text, even read!&nbsp; It&rsquo;s easy.&nbsp; You can<strong> walk in place, walk in circles, <\/strong>walk up and down stairs.&nbsp; Just walk!\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tMove like you&#39;re running late. Not only will you burn extra calories, you&#39;ll save time getting where you&#39;re going!\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tYou&rsquo;ve heard it before but it bears repeating &#8211; park farther away!&nbsp; You know those people who hold up the line of traffic waiting for the closest spot to open up?&nbsp; Don&rsquo;t be one of them.&nbsp; Do your body good and park as far away from the entrance as you can.&nbsp; It might not seem like much but it adds up over time!\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tGo<strong> clothes shopping <\/strong>and try on everything!&nbsp; Even if you don&rsquo;t buy anything, trying on clothes is a workout.&nbsp; Bending, lifting, twisting, is all moving.&nbsp; Plus, if you&rsquo;re not happy with what you see, it might motivate you to move more!\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tClean your house!&nbsp; Not everyone&rsquo;s favorite, but it&rsquo;s a calorie burner, and keeps you off the couch!\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tDance!&nbsp; Before you ask, yes, I do this, by myself!&nbsp; Just like I walk when I watch tv, I dance too.&nbsp; If you&rsquo;re too embarrassed to dance with someone, just dance with yourself!&nbsp; Dancing is just as great of a workout as walking is, so take your pick, or do both!\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tSet your alarm once an hour and do a quick lap around the office!&nbsp; Catch up with coworkers, refill your water bottle (don&rsquo;t forget to stay hydrated!), hit the restroom.
