{"id":10998,"date":"2015-07-02T12:52:18","date_gmt":"2015-07-02T16:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/?p=10998"},"modified":"2022-08-25T22:24:24","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T03:24:24","slug":"4th-july-smarteating-pocket-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/4th-july-smarteating-pocket-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"4th of July Smart-Eating Pocket Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/4th-of-July.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Loaded cheeseburger at a patriotic themed BBQ\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-11003\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/4th-of-July-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a>It&rsquo;s the 4<sup>th<\/sup>!&nbsp; And, quite possibly my most favorite time all summer.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tI love everything about summer in general, but I&rsquo;ve always had a particular fondness for the 4<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; From BBQ&rsquo;s to picnics to fireworks, nothing screams all-American better than Independence Day!&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tYet there&rsquo;s the inevitable crash and burn factor when you blow your diet by loading up on burgers with all the fixings, chips and dip or <strong>extra helpings of summertime treats<\/strong> like push-up pops and snow cones.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWho can blame you?&nbsp; It&rsquo;s all so good!&nbsp; But to keep you in check, I created a <span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><em>4<sup>th<\/sup> of July Smart-Eating Pocket Guide<\/em><\/span> to help you stay on track and easily navigate through the festivities without blowing it altogether!\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><strong>Get to grilling.<\/strong><\/span>&nbsp; As long as you don&rsquo;t overdo it on oil, grilled food makes everything taste&nbsp;better and keeps fat at bay.&nbsp; It&rsquo;s a great way to watch what you&rsquo;re eating and eat flavorfully too!&nbsp; My picks?&nbsp; Veggie skewers, veggie burgers &#8211; even fruit!<br \/>\n\t\t&nbsp;\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:16px;\"><strong>Eat treats &ndash; smartly.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span> Speaking of fruit, [bctt tweet=&#8221;instead of fatty frozen snacks like ice cream sandwiches or drumsticks, stick with fruit pops&#8221;] or fruit bars.
