{"id":10440,"date":"2015-03-18T23:40:16","date_gmt":"2015-03-19T03:40:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/?p=10440"},"modified":"2022-08-25T22:24:24","modified_gmt":"2022-08-26T03:24:24","slug":"what-cravings-mean","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/what-cravings-mean\/","title":{"rendered":"What Your Cravings Really Mean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<a href=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/cravings.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"woman craving sugar sweet cookies worried about weight gain\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-10441\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/angelaminelli.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/cravings-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" \/><\/a>We&rsquo;re all conditioned to think cravings are bad, as if feeding yourself should be considered a sin!&nbsp; Yet <strong>cravings are actually quite critical<\/strong> when it comes to overcoming emotional eating because more than anything else, they are a direct indicator of what you&rsquo;re in fact <em>feeling<\/em> emotionally.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tUndoubtedly, cravings can also be physical, but for emotional eaters, that is less often the case. &nbsp;Usually what they really mean is you&rsquo;re looking for love, or attention, or to feel more secure because some aspect of your life is spiraling out of control.&nbsp; So you eat, hoping to make the feeling go away, which may work temporarily, but more long term, the only real end result&nbsp;you&rsquo;re left with is feeling guilty and ashamed of yourself for overeating and not having enough willpower to control yourself otherwise.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tUncovering my own emotional eating drivers is what led me to specialize in emotional eating in my coaching practice. &nbsp;In the process,&nbsp;I discovered they <strong>all stemmed from insecurities <\/strong>I developed early on in life.&nbsp; Fear was a main driver, including fear of being ridiculed, fear of rejection, fear of unwanted attention, and fear of just being me.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe more I work with clients, it&rsquo;s increasingly obvious that what was true for me many times is true for them too.&nbsp; But even more than that, across the board, there are certain undeniable anomalies that consistently show up when it comes to emotions and eating.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDecide for yourself if any of the following apply to you:&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:18px;\"><strong>Chocolate cravings really mean a hunger for love.<\/strong><\/span>&nbsp; Need I say more?
